Our Management Team

James Zalaznik, EA grew up going to help his mom, Nancy Phillips, at her income tax office, and after graduating with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration (BBA) from St. Edwards University in 2012, he came back to Dallas to work full-time with the growing tax practice.  During his time at the tax firm, he went part-time and completed his Master’s degree in Accounting at the University of Texas at Dallas in 2017.  James is single and is an expert on antique corkscrews.  He has spoken on the subject several times, been featured in magazine articles, and is a member of an elite International Corkscrew Collectors organization, which can be joined by invitation only.  He also raises chickens in his yard and manages his rental real estate. Both James and Richard Almeida have passed the strenuous three-part Enrolled Agent (EA) exam given by the Internal Revenue Service, which covers all areas of income taxes.  It allows them to represent clients without the clients being present.

Richard Almeida, EA joined the firm after graduating from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2008 and continues to take on complex projects and meet with clients.  He enjoys meeting with the clients and reviewing individual, partnership, corporate, estate, and trust tax returns.   He was brought up in India but has lived more than one-half his life in the USA, where he is a citizen and lives in the Dallas area with his wife and two children.  He played cricket for many years and now coaches his son’s soccer team.

Nancy K Phillips,
CFP®, CPA, started her own income tax practice in 1980 while working at Associates Financial Services after getting an undergraduate degree in Accounting from the University of Texas at Arlington.  She started small by preparing tax returns for friends, family, and neighbors.  It was rewarding to help people save money on their tax returns by knowing all the tax laws.  She then went back to Baylor University after working for two years to get a Master's of Professional Accounting (Taxation) in 1981.  After graduation, she joined the tax department of Arthur Young (now EY), one of the largest CPA firms in the nation, in downtown Dallas.  There, she received good training while continuing to expand her side business doing tax returns.  She finally went out on her own, and her firm grew over the years by referrals from her clients and various business referral sources.  She has spoken to multiple professional groups about income taxes and has trained many other young accountants in the field.
